Consultation
The first step is to book a consultation. In this 90 minute consultation, I’ll get more information about your dog’s history, discuss your training plan with you and give you the first steps to begin working with your dog. We serve Long Beach, CA and surrounding neighborhoods in person and virtually worldwide!

Coaching Sessions
While some training situations can be handled in the consultation, many people benefit from working with a trainer for at least a few sessions. This allows us to not bombard you with information in your consultation and to adjust our plan as needed while your dog learns the new skills we’re teaching them. Sessions after the consultation are 60 minutes and can be held in your home, online or in public meeting places like parks and shopping areas, depending on you and your dog’s needs. We recommend coaching sessions are booked within 1-2 weeks of each other. All packages expire after 12 months.

Training Walks and Outings
Now offering training walks and adventure outings! Have a professional trainer take your dog for walks, hikes, or out to socialize in the human world to maintain and reinforce the lessons they learn at home. If your unruly teenage dog is pulling on leash or having a hard time settling at coffee shops we can practice that! If you have a high energy dog who needs to be challenged so they don’t eat the couch cushions, we’ve got you covered.

Day Training Packages
Starting a new training program can be daunting and overwhelming. Training requires the human and the dog to learn new skills which can be confusing for everyone. Our Day Training packages combine coaching sessions (you and your dog working with a trainer) with one-on-one sessions between the trainer and your dog. You’ll get all the benefits of working personally with a Paws and Effect trainer, plus your trainer will spend 3-4 additional hours every week reinforcing the games and exercises discussed in your coaching sessions. This is a great way to make sure you and your dog get started on the right paw!
Day Training packages are designed with your dog in mind. For learning to behave in public, loose leash walking and basic obedience in the home, 2 week packages start at $1,000. For leash reactivity, packages start at $1275. Schedule a call or fill out an application to find out which package is best for you!
